Masterpieces by Park Soo-keun and Yayoi Kusama Up for Auction in May

The renowned painting 'Girl Carrying a Baby on Her Back' by Korean artist Park Soo-keun is set to be auctioned at K-Auction in May. This piece, known for its unique texture and depiction of everyday life, is highly regarded among his series of works. The auction will start at 750 million KRW. In total, 112 works valued at around 13.1 billion KRW will be showcased, including masterpieces by major figures in Korean modern art like Kim Chang-yeul and Park Seo-bo, as well as contemporary pieces by artists such as Yayoi Kusama, known for her iconic polka dot patterns. The auction also features Korean Joseon Dynasty porcelain and calligraphy artworks. A preview exhibition runs until April 28 at the K-Auction gallery, open free to the public.
