Sebastiao Salgado, the world-renowned Brazilian documentary photographer and environmentalist, has passed away at the age of 81. Known for his warm portrayal of both people and natural environments, Salgado worked in over 120 countries and received numerous awards including the Spanish Asturias Award. His 2014 exhibition in Seoul marked his visit to South Korea. Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva mourned his death, praising him as one of the greatest photographers who used both his eyes and spirit in his work.
