The Jeju Provincial Council has approved an amendment to the local ordinance that provides a legal basis for offering incentives to tourists visiting Jeju Island. This initiative, named 'Gifts from Jeju,' aims to boost tourism by supporting both individual and group tourists financially. Various programs are being launched, such as enhanced financial support for school trips and group travelers, including discounts for ferry users and incentives for alumni and hobby groups visiting the island. Additional programs include a lottery for participants of Jeju Week and pop-up events in major cities, offering gift vouchers to individual tourists. This comes as part of efforts to revitalize Jeju's tourism industry, especially during key holiday periods in June and the Golden Week from late September to early October.
