The Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra will host a concert featuring the Korean premiere of John Adams' 'Doctor Atomic Symphony' on October 23 at Lotte Concert Hall and October 24 at Seoul Arts Center. Conductor David Robertson will lead the performance, which includes Brahms Piano Concerto No. 2 featuring pianist Kirill Gerstein and Sibelius Symphony No. 7. The symphony, inspired by Adams' opera 'Doctor Atomic', musically explores the psychological conflict faced by J. Robert Oppenheimer during the development of nuclear weapons.
