Time Travel with Sunjong's Car: Shinsegae's Media Art

Shinsegae Department Store has unveiled the second series of its national heritage media art featuring "Sunjong's Car" tour at Shinsegae Square. Built in 1918, Sunjong's Car was used by Sunjong, the last king of Joseon and the second emperor of the Korean Empire. The car, along with Junghyo Hwanghu's car, is one of the oldest cars in Korea, distinguished by its lacquered wooden body and plum blossom emblem of the imperial family. This media art invites viewers on a time travel journey, showcasing Seoul’s transformation from the 1950s till 2025, emphasizing the historical and cultural significance of Sunjong's Car. Shinsegae aims to promote Korean cultural heritage with this initiative.
