Google Teams Up with Samsung to Introduce 'Gentle Monster' Smart Glasses

At the Google I/O 2025 event held in Mountain View, California, Google announced a partnership with South Korean companies Samsung and Gentle Monster to launch new smart glasses. These AI-equipped glasses are seen as potential replacements for smartphones. The smart glasses feature a small display on the lens showing various information, integrated AI & camera, and offer functionalities like real-time translation and Google Maps integration. Google is expanding its collaboration with Samsung in XR device development to include the new smart glasses. The design partners for the smart glasses will include the Korean eyewear brand Gentle Monster and the American brand Warby Parker. Project X Infinite, a related XR headset by Google, will be unveiled later this year, and the smart glasses will be available to developers by the end of the year.
