Starting May 23, the Gangwon Provincial Theatre Company will present the family musical 'A Cat Who Taught a Seagull to Fly', based on a best-selling novel by Luis Sepúlveda. Set in a seaside town, the musical tells the story of a seagull named 'Pungwoo' who, in her last moments, asks the local cat 'Momo' to hatch her egg and teach the newborn seagull to fly. This heartwarming tale highlights themes of trust and unity between different species as well as the duality of human nature regarding environmental protection. Directed and adapted by Kim Kyung-ik, the performance features modern elements and traditional Korean songs including 'Asso Nimha' and 'Yalli Yalli Yallasong'. It will tour across six counties in the Gangwon region, starting in Gangneung and ending in Wonju.
