Musical 'Gjigsocklee' to Open in June Starring Begi-seong & Park Si-hwan

The musical 'Gjigsocklee', based on the Gukchae Boesang Undong (a national debt repayment movement during the late Joseon Dynasty period), will be performed from June 27-29 at the KT&G Sangsangmadang Daechi Art Hall in Seoul. The movement aimed to repay the national debt through public efforts in the face of Japanese colonization, depicting dedication and solidarity for independence. Originally staged in 2015, this work of faction (factual fiction) was recognized as a special cultural content project in Daegu. Begi-seong will play Seo Sang-don, the leader of the movement, and Park Si-hwan will act as Jaegoo, a conflicted youth. The production promises enhanced audience involvement with projection mapping.
