The previously booming Korean athleisure market, known for everyday athletic wear, has seen a slowdown this year, prompting major brands like Xexymix and Andar to focus more on the 'running' category. In response to challenges such as cost increases and high exchange rates, Xexymix's running collection 'RX' achieved sales of over 10 billion KRW ($7.6 million) within a year. Andar also saw a sales increase by doubling their running product lineup sales compared to the previous year. Both brands are leveraging the growing popularity of running among young people as a strategy to counteract the long-term recession in the fashion industry. With new lightweight, functional running products, the brands aim to maintain steady sales throughout the year.
