In the first quarter of the year, Korea's processed food exports reached a record high of $2.19 billion, marking an 8.8% increase compared to the previous year. The popularity of K-Food, including ramen (spicy noodle soup), ginseng products, and seaweed, continues to drive global demand despite uncertainties from the Trump administration. Notably, ramen exports saw a 25.4% increase, propelled by a global preference for spicy flavors. Ginseng products expanded with diverse specifications, primarily targeting markets in China and the U.S. The K-Food+ sector, which includes agriculture-related industries, also saw growth. Exports were strongest to the U.S., Japan, and China. However, overall expectations for economic recovery remain limited, as reflected in low business sentiment indices.
