The 24th UNIMA Congress & Chuncheon International Puppet Festival, themed 'Puppets Crossing Boundaries,' is set to kick off soon, featuring 104 performances from 21 countries. The festival will turn various locations in Chuncheon into stages from May 23 to June 1. Known as a prestigious event in the puppetry world, the UNIMA Congress will gather 206 puppetry professionals from 54 countries to discuss puppetry's societal and artistic roles. Highlights include a massive bird puppet crafted by Italian creator Raoul Bortuloni Davis, designed to symbolize the festival, and the impressive 'Vultures' puppet, previously showcased in a Kanye West tour. The festival aims for a significant economic impact, aiming to achieve a distribution volume of about 15 billion KRW (Korean Won). Safety measures are in place to ensure a smooth event, with expectations of over 200,000 visitors. The festival will also debut the puppet show 'Dead as a Dodo' by Waka Waka Productions.
