Classic Ballet and Korean Dance: A May Full of Performances

In celebration of spring, South Korea's dance scene is showcasing a variety of performances. The 2025 Korea Ballet Festival is underway, featuring 26 shows from 12 companies between May 9 and June 22. Highlights include Seoul Ballet Theatre's 'Walking Mad & Bliss' and Gwangju City Ballet's 'Coppélia'. Additionally, the National Jeongdong Theater is staging the dance drama 'Danshim', inspired by the traditional Korean tale 'Simcheong'. Actor Chae Si-ra will star in the piece, further attracting attention. GS Art Center, newly opened in April, presents 'Artists' series featuring Spanish choreographer Marcos Morau, including performances like 'Pasionaria' and 'Dance of Death'.
