Recent years have seen a decline in birth rates in South Korea, yet the willingness to marry among singles has increased according to a study by the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs. 62.2% of singles expressed a willingness to marry, up from 50.8% in 2021. Economic stability is increasingly important in considering marriage, and more singles show intentions of having children than married individuals. However, the actual average number of births among women continued to fall.
