Tina Kim Gallery in New York presents an exhibition, 'The Making of Modern Korean Art: The Letters of Kim Tschang-Yeul, Kim Whanki, Lee Ufan, and Park Seo-Bo, 1961–1982', until June 21. This scholarly exhibition highlights the artistic exchanges between these four Korean artists during the 1960s to 1980s through letters and archival materials. The exhibit illustrates how their correspondence transcended friendship, showcasing their efforts for the global recognition of Korean art. It also coincides with the gallery's 10th anniversary and the publication of a book analyzing the transition in Korean art from 'Informel' (a post-war European art movement) to 'Dansaekhwa' (a Korean monochrome painting style).
