Record Number of Tourists Visit Jeju During May Holiday

During the May holiday, over 260,000 tourists visited Jeju Island, exceeding expectations. Despite some flight cancellations due to strong winds, tourists utilized alternative flights, contributing to the high numbers. The number of domestic flights slightly decreased, but high seating occupancy and increased ferry visitors improved overall results. Foreign tourist numbers also grew by 4.8% compared to last year, partly due to overlapping holidays like Japan's Golden Week and China's Labor Day, as well as the APEC conference. Both domestic and international visitor numbers rose, indicating successful tourism strategies for Jeju.
