A special exhibition at the National Museum of the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty, titled "The Journey to Odaesan Archives," is being held until July 13. It highlights the history and significance of the Odaesan Archives, which preserved the valuable records of the Joseon Dynasty for over 300 years. The exhibition features around 40 artifacts, detailing the journey of these records through times of safeguarding, adversity during Japanese occupation, and eventual repatriation. Visitors can explore themes including record preservation, the operation of archives deep in the mountains, and the loss and recovery of these archives. Significant historical figures such as the painter Yi Eui-seong, who depicted the archives in his works, and evidence of the Japanese attempts to remove these records are also featured. The exhibition portrays the resilience and the efforts of people who saved these records, marking a reflective journey back through time for visitors.
