Gangwon Province in South Korea is launching 'Weekend Night Markets' in 13 traditional market locations across 11 municipalities until November 1, 2025, to revitalize local markets and promote nighttime tourism. Each market offers unique local foods and cultural experiences, such as traditional foods like jeon and hoddeok (Korean pancakes), and new food zones featuring popular items like chicken dishes. Events like a chicken and beer festival and dance carnival also support market activity. The initiative aims to attract tourists, enhance the local economy, and provide vibrant night-time experiences. Facilities and menus are being improved, with diverse entertainment planned, including night culture performances and themed festivals.
