KORAIL Tourism Development has introduced new attractions like DMZ Forest trekking and caravan camping for the DMZ Train, coinciding with Korea's family month and golden holiday in early May. The DMZ Train is a unique tourism program operated in restricted civilian areas near the demilitarized zone (DMZ). The program features four courses, including visits to historic sites and nature experiences, such as the DMZ Forest known for its rare flora and fauna. Additionally, the Imjingak Peace Nuri Park offers caravan camping for extended stays, allowing families to enjoy peaceful nights under the stars. This initiative aims to reinterpret the border region as a space of peace and healing, enhancing tourism in the northern Gyeonggi area. The DMZ Train can be booked via the KORAIL Tourism Development website.
