A youth startup, Contemplative, has launched "Incheon Front Sea First Cider," reviving the historical significance of Korea's first cider beverage made in Incheon in 1905. This new drink draws inspiration from 'Byeolpyo Cider,' produced by 'Incheon Carbonated Water Factory.' The product features a zero-sugar, zero-calorie recipe with a soda lime taste and apple mint aroma, packaged in recyclable glass bottles. Originally made famous in the 1960s by a comedian's tune, Incheon cider faded out with the introduction of 'Chilsung Cider' in 1950. Contemplative aims to celebrate Incheon's beverage history by planning to establish a production facility near Incheon Front Sea and promoting its cider as a regional specialty. The drink is available at a pop-up store and online, with plans to supply local cafes.
