Kim Yong-hwan is a renowned calligrapher from South Korea, dedicated to blending traditional styles with innovative expressions. Born in Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Kim studied Confucian classics and entered the calligraphy world later in life under the tutelage of master Lee Hong-jae. He has mastered various styles, particularly admired for his skills in 'haengseo' and 'choseo', known for their elegance and dynamic strokes. Kim's work has received numerous prestigious awards and he mentors future talents through lectures on Korean calligraphy and Confucian virtues such as 'Inuiyejisin' (benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, and faith). He aims to expand awareness of calligraphy and foster character education by teaching Korean calligraphy and classical Chinese.
