Goesan County in Chungbuk Province, South Korea, is providing full financial support for overseas trips for local middle and high school students. Due to the decreasing student numbers in rural areas, the initiative aims to offer valuable experiences to these students. For instance, 136 second-year students of Goesan High School will visit Sydney, Australia, this August for various educational activities. A total budget of 360 million KRW is allocated for high school students' trips, and 500 million KRW for middle school students. This initiative marks the first time Goesan County is covering overseas trip costs entirely.
