During the Korean Lunar New Year holiday, various national and public museums and galleries in Korea remain open, offering a range of exhibitions. The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Deoksugung is co-hosting an exhibition with the China Art Museum, showcasing 148 modern ink and color paintings from Korea and China, including some national treasures. Meanwhile, the Seoul Museum of Art, among others, hosts contemporary solo exhibitions. The National Folk Museum holds a unique exhibition focusing on snake imagery and associated global folklore, as well as a dedicated exhibition of 'Kkokdu' wooden figures used in traditional Korean funerals. These exhibitions provide a rare opportunity to appreciate both Korean and international art and culture.
