Daesang, a major South Korean food manufacturer, has announced its expansion into the low-sugar and low-calorie food market in alignment with recent food trends. The company introduced the 'LOWTAG' emblem to mark products meeting specific dietary standards. With an allulose production facility already set up in Gunsan, Daesang plans to use this alternative sweetener in its new product lines, enhancing its competitive edge globally. Daesang's low-sugar offerings include traditional Korean fermented products like gochujang (red chili paste) and doenjang (soybean paste), alongside other categories such as sauces and dressings, aiming to cater to a wider range of health-conscious consumers. The product lineup will keep expanding in 2023.
