Passenger shipping between Incheon, South Korea, and Dandong, China, has resumed after a hiatus of 5 years and 2 months. This international ferry service was on hold due to the impact of COVID-19 since January 2020. The ferry named Oriental Pearl VIII, constructed in 2016, is now operating thrice weekly. It can accommodate 1,500 passengers and significant cargo loads. The ferry's resumption is expected to boost tourism, connecting several historic sites, including Goguryeo relics. Incheon has a total of 10 ferry routes, with 7 currently in operation, while others are being assessed for resumption.
