Korean Ballet Dancer Wins Gold at US International Competition

Ryu Hee-jung, a 22-year-old Korean ballet dancer, won the senior division gold medal at the Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition in Boston. Despite starting ballet at the age of 11, later than most, she worked tirelessly and achieved success on the world stage. She trained by traveling frequently between her hometown Daegu and Seoul. The Valentina Kozlova competition, named after a former Bolshoi Ballet principal dancer, attracts global talent in New York each year. Ryu expressed excitement over her achievement and hopes to continue growing in her art.
