Former professor Jeon Ho-tae of Ulsan University has transitioned to lacquer painting, showcasing his works at Muusu Gallery in Seoul. His latest exhibition, 'Time Travel,' features renditions of ancient Korean murals and petroglyphs—works that are inspired by deteriorating artworks from Goguryeo tomb murals, Ulsan Bangudae petroglyphs, and Buddhist guardian statues. Jeon, under the guidance of master lacquersmith Seongpa, has recreated these pieces to preserve the essence of history while embracing the unpredictable nature of lacquer's aging process.
