In May, the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) will host an event called the 'Norwegian Mackerel Academy' to educate attendees about the nutritious and flavorful mackerel. The event, which will be held both online and offline on May 16th at 3 PM, aims to provide information on the unique features, nutritional benefits, preparation, and cooking methods of Norwegian mackerel. Participants can learn from Dr. Kim So-hyung, who will discuss the health benefits of mackerel as part of a healthy diet, and Chef Yoon Ji-a, who will demonstrate an easy and delicious Norwegian mackerel recipe with Tzatziki sauce. The event will be streamed live on the Jiggle-Jiggle Club (a food culture social network service), and interested individuals can apply through the platform until May 6th. Out of the applicants, 200 will be selected and announced on May 8th. Additionally, 50 live participants will receive a Norwegian mackerel kit and a cooking box featuring Chef Yoon Ji-a's demonstrated dish as a gift. The NSC aims to promote Norwegian mackerel as a 'distinct choice' due to its fresh and juicy quality sourced from the cold, clean waters of Norway.
