Renowned South Korean ceramic artist Kim Byung-wook presents his first solo exhibition, 'Black and White', at Gangneung Arts Center on the 22nd. As the only craftsman designated as a traditional black ceramic maker ("heukja-jang") in Gangwon Province, Kim is known for creating 'heukja', or black ceramics, using Gangwon's clay. The exhibit showcases a variety of ceramics including tea sets and moon jars, highlighting the balance between contrasting colors. Key pieces include 'Gumgo Hue-go', emphasizing harmony between large black bowls and small white teapots, and 'Sanggam Bok Hee Su Moon Ho', featuring engravings of traditional wishes. The exhibition runs until the 27th.
