A play based on the works of the late Korean poet Ki Hyung-do titled 'Ki Hyung-do Play' is currently showing at the Daehangno theater district. This omnibus theatre production is an adaptation of nine poems by the poet, each transformed into a short story by different writers. The play was initially performed in October 2023 and sold out all its tickets, attracting much attention. It encompasses various themes, including a couple dwelling on old memories in 'Vacant House,' a group of university students experiencing all sounds in 'Bones of Sound,' and an aspiring writer's antics in 'Jealousy is My Strength.' The production aims to capture the collective memory of Korean youth through the evocative verses of Ki Hyung-do, whose posthumous poetry collection 'The Black Leaf Inside My Mouth' deeply influenced generations from the 1990s to 2000s. The performance continues until the 4th of the following month at the Yegrin Theater with tickets priced at 50,000 KRW (Korean Won).
