On April 19th, the luxury cruise ship 'Nordam', operated by the American cruise company Holland America Line, docked at Sokcho Port in Gangwon Province, South Korea. The Nordam, which had last visited in October, brought approximately 2500 passengers and crew to explore local attractions such as Sokcho Tourism Fish Market and Abai Village (a village founded by North Korean refugees during the Korean War). Officials welcomed guests with various events and provided shuttle bus services for individual travelers. The Nordam will continue its journey towards Sakaiminato Port in Japan later in the afternoon. With insufficient flight routes at local airports, attracting large cruise ships has become a key strategy for Gangwon Province, aiming for 10,000 cruise tourists by year's end.
