The 2025 Hwacheon Sancheoneo (mountain trout) Ice Festival in Gangwon Province, South Korea, attracted numerous visitors eager to enjoy winter activities like ice fishing and sledding. Due to increased attendance, more sections of the ice fishing area were opened, an unusual move for a typical weekday. Families and international tourists filled the site, enjoying snow and ice activities. Additionally, the famous Central Seongnam Market in Gangneung was bustling with visitors sampling traditional snacks like dak-gangjeong (Korean sweet crispy chicken).
