Visitors Flock to Gangwon Despite Stormy Weather

Despite strong winds and rain, thousands of tourists visited the famous mountains of Gangwon Province, South Korea over the weekend to enjoy the spring weather. Heavy wind speeds were reported with rain showers and potential thunderstorms forecasted by the Meteorological Administration. In places like Wonju's Sogeumsan Grand Valley, over 6500 visitors were recorded, while Seoraksan National Park had more than 4000 visitors, and other national parks like Odaesan and Chiaksan also attracted large crowds. Local businesses noted the presence of families and couples among the visitors despite the inclement weather.
