In the recent "Asia 50 Best Restaurants 2025" event held in Seoul, four Korean restaurants were among the top 50, highlighting the international interest in Korean cuisine. Two women, Chef Choi Jung-yoon and hospitality group leader Park Jung-eun, are spearheading a project called NANRO NEXT, aimed at supporting future talents in the Korean culinary industry. NANRO NEXT is a non-profit initiative that focuses not only on traditional culinary training but also on mentoring in various fields like marketing and management to foster a new generation of global entrepreneurs in Korean cuisine. They plan to host foreign chefs in Korea to experience and develop Korean dishes. NANRO draws inspiration from 18th-century Korean gatherings known for intellectual debate and culinary exploration. This initiative is garnering international support and aims to bring Korean cuisine closer to everyday dining in the global market.
