A new cinematic opera 'Meredith' aims to break the stereotype that opera is difficult to understand. It tells the real historical tale of the ship Meredith Victory, which evacuated 14,000 refugees during the Korean War, despite being only designed for 60 passengers. By integrating operatic music with film-like realism, and using computer graphics to emulate the cinematic experience, this opera sets itself apart from traditional performances. Esteemed actors from Seoul National University's vocal music department make their operatic debuts, bringing historical figures to life. 'Meredith' is set to captivate audiences at Seongnam Arts Center in June.
