The 'Seok Nam-Hee: Nature in Paintings' exhibition at Seongkok Art Museum in Seoul showcases Seok Nan-hee's unique world of art, spanning 60 years of creativity. Unlike other artists during the informel (abstract expressionism) era, Seok focused on tranquil themes of nature, harmonizing oriental calligraphy with energetic brushstrokes. Her journey began with the influence of mentor Kim Whanki, a leading abstract artist in Korea. Despite the changing art trends, Seok remained true to her abstract expressionist roots, using techniques like lithography explored during her Paris studies. This exhibition features works like her early 'Nude', capturing the essence of vitality rather than detailed figures, and the story behind 'Nanhui's Face', a playful drawing by Kim Whanki. The exhibition runs until July 6.
