Behind the Scenes Star: Lighting Designer Kim Chang-ki Honored

The 35th Lee Hae-rang Theater Awards ceremony honored Kim Chang-ki, a lighting designer, for his outstanding contribution to Korean theater. Traditionally spotlighted on actors and directors, this year the ceremony recognized the critical role of lighting in creating emotional impact and storytelling. Kim, celebrated for his 30-year career, emphasized lighting as an art form that conveys emotions to the audience, aligning with the realism spirit of Lee Hae-rang, a prominent Korean theater director. The event, attended by notable figures in the Korean theater community, also awarded special recognition to 85-year-old actor Park Geun-hyung for his contributions to theater.
