Blue Origin, a space company founded by Amazon's Jeff Bezos, completed a historic spaceflight with an all-female crew aboard the 'New Shepard' spacecraft. The flight, which lasted approximately 10 minutes, took off from West Texas and returned to Earth successfully. Among the crew were Bezos's fiancée Lauren Sanchez, CBS morning show host Gayle King, aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, filmmaker Keriann Flynn, and bioastronautics researcher and civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen. This event marked the first time in U.S. history that a spaceflight was conducted with an entirely female crew. Sanchez intentionally chose an all-female team for the flight, ahead of her wedding to Bezos in two months. The launch attracted attention from famous personalities, including Oprah Winfrey and Kylie Jenner. This was the 11th human spaceflight by Blue Origin, the first of which included Bezos in 2021.
