The 95th Namwon Chunhyang Festival, Korea’s oldest festival, will be held from April 30 to May 6 in Gwanghalluwon and along the Yocheon River in Namwon. The festival centers around Chunhyang and Mongryong's love story and offers over 150 diverse programs. Highlights include traditional Korean music (gugak) performances, a rock festival, street parades, and a Hanbok fashion show. This year, international participation expands to the US and Canada, with a Global Chunhyang Beauty Contest. Culinary experiences will be enhanced with local specialties. The festival also introduces new venues such as Goldam Park and Canola flower fields, providing visitors with rich cultural experiences. The Chunhyang Ambassador Networking event, held ahead of the festival, featured various performances and a traditional Hanbok fashion show, attracting significant attention from media and cultural influencers.
