The Clayarch Gimhae Museum in Korea will host a special exhibition titled 'Glass: Alchemy of Light and Fire' from April 18 to October 26. This exhibition explores the historical and artistic evolution of glass art, featuring 200 works by 21 artists from Korea, Japan, the USA, and Australia. It highlights the prominence of glass in Gaya (an ancient Korean kingdom) culture, known for treating glass with high value, and delves into the rich tradition and contemporary innovation in glass art. Notable are the blue glass necklaces discovered in Gaya burial sites, evidencing the kingdom's active maritime trade and high craftsmanship. The exhibition underscores glass as both a historical and forward-looking material pivotal to modern and future technologies.
