Connecting Gangwon and Busan with Korean Traditional Orchestral Music

The Gangwon Provincial and Busan Municipal Korean Traditional Orchestras are holding a collaborative performance at the Gangneung Arts Center to celebrate the opening of the Gangneung-Busan East Sea (Donghae) Line. This performance, featuring 78 musicians, will present a harmony without boundaries, showcasing local folk songs and orchestral pieces reflecting the spirit of Gangwon and Busan. It highlights compositions like minstrel song suites, solo performances with traditional instruments, and modern adaptations of traditional Korean operatic songs, known as 'Changgeuk'. It's a unique ensemble that is not common in typical orchestral settings but highly valued in the Korean traditional musical scene for its opportunity to grow talents and increase performances.
