Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to Host Seafood Direct Market and Dry Seaweed Exchange in Jindo

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries in Korea is organizing a 'Seafood Direct Market' and 'One-day Dry Seaweed Exchange' event on April 9th in Jindo, South Jeolla Province. This event aims to stabilize prices and supply of dried seaweed, while providing consumers with direct access to high-quality seafood at over 20% discount compared to market prices. 17 major seaweed distribution and processing companies will participate. This initiative supports local fishermen and promotes seafood such as grilled fish and abalone. Additionally, the event includes showcases of seaweed dishes, an auction of dry seaweed products, and an introduction to an online wholesale marketplace for seaweed trading.
