The Gwangju Cultural Foundation has announced the '2025 Saturday Permanent Performance' to promote traditional performing arts and tourism in the Mudeungsan area. The performances, beginning on April 12, will be held weekly at the Seoseokdang in the Traditional Culture Center. There will be a variety of themed performances each week, featuring professional artists' pansori and sanjo (traditional Korean musical styles), traditional music creations, and traditional dance and performances. In addition, there will be special performances by Gwangju's intangible heritage holders. Every first week features pansori and sanjo performances, meanwhile the second week is for traditional music creation, and the third week includes dance and performances. Events include experiences like 'Googuryeo Mural Play' in collaboration with the Traditional Performance Play Research Society. Over the past 14 years, the series has gathered over 180,000 attendees under the slogan 'Saturday, Saturday, let's play at the Traditional Culture Center!' This year, the performances will run every Saturday until October 25, totaling 24 times.
