The Hwacheon Sancheoneo Festival, held in Hwacheon, Gangwon Province, South Korea, has welcomed over 1 million visitors within 14 days since its opening on January 11. The winter festival, famous for ice fishing, attracts both local and international tourists, including nearly 59,000 foreign visitors. As the Lunar New Year holiday approaches, the festival is expected to draw even larger crowds. Various activities such as ice sledding, bobsledding, and ice soccer are available. An indoor ice sculpture plaza features impressive works, including global landmarks. Established in 2003, the festival sees significant economic impact annually, drawing over 1 million visitors since 2006.
