Jeju Island is working to improve the perception of high cost and unfriendly services in its tourism industry. It plans to adjust prices of popular dishes like grilled hairtail (a type of fish), pork belly, and local delicacies which are considered expensive. Measures include developing single-portion menus, displaying prices clearly, and providing information on affordable local restaurants. In response to complaints about overpriced festival food, they will collaborate with vendors to set acceptable prices and display sample images of dishes. A task force including various sectors of the tourism industry will spearhead these initiatives to increase tourist satisfaction and attract visitors.
