The Seoul Opera group will perform 'Faust' in a unique format that mixes opera and theater from November 10 to 13 at the Sejong Center's Grand Theater. The performance employs a 'O'play' concept where veteran actor Jeong Dong-hwan portrays an elderly Faust in Act 1, expressing human desires and repentance. In Act 2, experienced opera singers resume the traditional opera led by Samuel Youn, a renowned bass-baritone who has received the prestigious title 'Kammersänger' in German-speaking countries. The production aims to make opera more accessible by combining theatrical elements, offering a fresh experience for both theater and opera enthusiasts.
