This week, we highlight three influential figures in Korean arts. Pianist Kim Se-hyun won the piano section of the Long Thibaud international competition in France, demonstrating exceptional skill with Rachmaninoff’s challenging concerto. Novelist Hyun Ki-young, a survivor of the Jeju 4.3 incident (a historical conflict in Jeju Island leading to mass civilian casualties), raises awareness through his memoir, reflecting on his experiences.
