The 2025 Hwacheon Sancheoneo Festival is in full swing, attracting locals and tourists to Hwacheon Stream in Hwacheon-gun, Gangwon Province on the first day of the Lunar New Year holiday. The festival will continue until February 2nd, 2025. The Sancheoneo Festival is famous for its ice fishing activities and cultural events centered around the mountain trout (산천어), a freshwater fish found in Korean streams particularly in the colder regions.
