KFC Korea has announced its master franchise agreement with Yum Brands, the parent company of Taco Bell, to develop and oversee Taco Bell operations in South Korea. This accords KFC Korea preferential rights for Taco Bell store development and operations in the country. The company aims to lead the expansion of Taco Bell in collaboration with Orchestra Private Equity in South Korea. Taco Bell first entered the South Korean market in 1991 and currently operates nine stores in regions including Incheon International Airport and the Seoul metropolitan area. KFC Korea plans to leverage the growing interest in Mexican cuisine among South Korean consumers to drive Taco Bell's growth.
