In Yeongwol, a café named 'Wero Yanbang' offers comforting desserts made from local grains. Founded by Eun-kyung Han, a local Seoul resident, the shop specializes in 'Yakgwa' (a traditional Korean honey pastry) and 'Mugwort Shells' (made with mugwort and chocolate). These treats are crafted by local grandmothers, providing economic support to the community. The café was inspired by a desire to create healthy, comforting snacks using local produce. In March, they opened a store in Seoul's Insadong to introduce these cultural delicacies to tourists, hoping to establish them as representative snacks of Yeongwol.
