The musical 'Laika', staged in Korea, draws inspiration from the real-life story of the first space dog, Laika, sent by the Soviet Union in 1957. Incorporating elements from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's 'The Little Prince', the production explores themes of humanity through the story of Laika who finds herself on planet B612 in outer space. Here, Laika, now with human-like abilities, encounters the Little Prince and confronts her feelings of being abandoned and the nature of true humanity. The musical blends reality and fiction, with a strong emotional impact despite some narrative questions. Running until May 18th at Doosan Art Center in Seoul, it offers a thought-provoking experience.
